Loren HarnettLoren first got involved in theatre, when he joined Quarry Players Limerick in 1990. He appeared in The Honeyspike (1990), and subsequently played small parts in Richard's Cork Leg (1995), and In Holy Matrimony (1996). His main interest is in production and design, and he has worked on set construction for more than twenty full length plays, along with several one acts. For many years, his main design focus was on sound design, and he has designed sound for plays such as The Cripple of Inishmaan (1999 & 2002), The Beauty Queen of Leenane (2001), The Plough and the Stars (2003), Lovers at Versailles (2005), Translations (2006), Dolly West's Kitchen (2007), The Lieutenant of Inishmore (2008), Stolen Child (2009), By the Bog of Cats (2009) among others. He has also designed lighting for several productions, and has been stage manager or production manager on numerous occasions. He was Chairman of Quarry Players for three years from 2004 to 2007, and is an honorary life member since 2005. For Changing Times, he has designed the set for both Bad Sunday (2010) and Dancing at Lughnasa (2010). Loren has done work for many other drama groups around the country, has written extensively on theatrical sound design, and is a former Chairman of the Drama League of Ireland (2007 to 2009). He recently worked on The Playboy of the Western World, for CentreSpace Players, directed by Richie Ryan, which ran through July and August 2010, and The Authors Voice, a one-act play for Quarry Players in November 2010. |
