Jean FayJean is from Dungarvan Co. Waterford, and is a founder member and Artistic Director of Changing Times Theatre Company. She joined Quarry Players in 1994, and played in many productions with that group from then until 2003. Roles include Agnes in Dancing at Lughnasa, Mrs Smith in A Crucial Week in the Life of a Grocers Assistant, Mrs Tancred in Juno and the Paycock, Heather in Say Cheese!, Portia in Portia Coughlan, Maureen in The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Rosie Redmond in The Plough and the Stars and Eileen in The Cripple of Inishmaan, among others. She has played in all major Limerick venues – Belltable, Millennium Theatre at LIT, University Concert Hall, and of course Friars Gate. Jean received a Graduate Diploma in Drama and Theatre (2005) and a Masters Degree in Dramatherapy (2007) from NUI Maynooth. As a member of Quarry Players, she was Chairperson for four years, and secretary for three. As a member of the Board of the Drama League of Ireland, she has organised and attended numerous directing, acting, voice and movement workshops throughout the country. She previously directed The Last of the Last of the Mohicans, which played in Friars Gate in 2008. |
